Which one do you choose?
1. DEVOTION: THE MEERA DANCE IN THE TEMPLE
Devotion is a way of mixing and merging with existence. It is not a pilgrimage; you are simply losing all the limits that separate you from existence: it is a love story.
To love is to mix with an individual, the profound intimacy of two hearts; so deep that the two hearts start dancing the same harmony. Although hearts are two, harmony is one, music is one, dance is one.
What is love between individuals is the devotion between an individual and the totality of existence. The individual dances in the waves of the ocean dances on the trees that dance in the sun dances with the stars.
Her heart responds to the scent of flowers, the songs of birds, the silence of the night. Devotion is the death of personality. Voluntarily abandon what is mortal in you; only the immortal remains remain, only the eternal remains, what death does not know.
And of course, something that does not die, that always continues and knows no beginning or end, cannot be separated from existence. Devotion is the highest form of love.
ZEN ADVICE: with faith, discipline, and selfless devotion to duty, there is nothing worth noting that you cannot achieve.

2. AUTHENTICITY: MILAREPA AND THE FALSE TEACHER
The truth is not the path. The real thing is the authenticity of the pursuit of excellence. This is something we want to highlight. You can take any path. If you are sincere and authentic you will reach the goal.
Some roads may be easier and others more difficult, some will have green meadows on both sides and others will advance among the deserts. Some will be surrounded by beautiful landscapes and others will not go through any landscape, but this is not important.
What matters is if you are sincere and honest, authentic, and true, each path will lead you to the goal. Therefore, everything can be reduced to one thing: the way of living and loving is authenticity.
Whatever the path you follow, if you are authentic, any path will lead you to the goal. And the opposite is also true: whatever the path you follow, if you are not authentic, you will not get anywhere. The only authenticity will bring you home, nothing more.
Everything else is secondary. The most important thing in life is to be authentic, to be true, only then can you say that you have lived a life completely and sincerely.
ZEN ADVICE: Don’t let others’ expectations and opinions influence your decisions. It’s your life, not theirs.
3. MEDITATION: HAKUIN AND THE LITTLE BOY
For the common man what others say is too important because it has nothing original. What you think it is is just a collection of opinions from others.
Someone said to him: “You are precious”, another person said to him: “You are intelligent”, and he collected all those phrases. So he is always afraid: because he cannot behave in such a way as to lose his reputation, his respectability.
He is always afraid of public opinion, of what others say, because the only thing he knows about himself is what others say to him. If they remove it, they leave it naked. So he won’t know who he is if he is ugly or handsome, intelligent or silly.
He has no vague idea of his being because he depends on others. But the man who meditates does not need the opinions of others. He knows himself, that’s why it doesn’t matter what others say.
Even if everyone says something that goes against their experience, they simply laugh. This may be, at best, the only answer. But it will not take any steps to change the opinion of others. Who are they? They don’t even know each other and are trying to put labels on others.
ZEN ADVICE: Reject the labels and simply say: “I am what I am, and this is how I will be. Nothing else matters and I’m going to leave my life my way.
